the cure is worse than the disease
my shoulder seems to be steadily improving. I can move my arm passively and use my left hand to hold very light things and for eating and sort-of-typing. the dressing has been changed a couple times and everything looks normal.
unfortuntely i have a few relatively minor complications. I keep having fevers come and go, and when I get the acompanying chills and muscle spasms, it makes my shoulder hurt something awful. We think the reason for the fevers is some kind of GI infection. I'll spare you all the detiails.
I went for a blood test and gave them all the other samples they needed to check out. I even had some chest x-rays to rule out....something. We should get the results of those tests later today.
meantime, i can barely focus on the laptop--i'll be taking a nap as soon as the room stops spinning...

take care! I'm glad you have your own physician in the house to look after you.
